I often wonder to myself when doing my layout what areas did I enjoy as a child? For me personally that is the science area. I was so amazed by the world of science. I could not wait to get my hands on things and explore how they work and what they were made up of. Fast forward to the present, my 6 year old son is a my twin when it comes to science.
When we first got our Science Lab Box from Mother Goose Time, he went through looking at everything. I was slowly opening and organizing my materials as he was pulling out everything so he could use it now. I have never seen a child so excited to open up a package of measuring cups. Not just any measuring cups, "The official Scientist ones" as my son told me.
In this kit it had so many area that will widen my sons knowledge. Each day is a new sub division off of Science. Properties of Matter, States of Matter, Mixtures, Reactions, Molecules, Sound, Light, Force, Friction, Gravity, Electricity, Structures, Fasteners, Magnets, Parachutes, Living and Non-Living, Growing and Changing, Adaptation, Germs, and Ecology.
These are all things that I was never exposed to much until I was in Middle School really. Thanks to Mother Goose Science Lab I am able to expose children to these areas as soon as infants in my program. With their great Little Goose Guide I am able to focus on the infants and toddlers and their development.
I love the cd that goes along with my themes. The children are so eager to listen and jump right in. I love to use it as reinforcement along with my lesson.
Without these great kits my children would not be exposed to all these areas that are not the common old every year themes.
