Fine motor skills are very important for the child and their development. When we use our Mother Goose Time planned art activities, each one has some fine motor development in them. For the Toothbrush art they used fine motor by painting with the toothbrush, scooping the paint onto the toothbrush and picking up and sprinkling the confetti onto the tooth. For the fork art they used fine motor skills in painting with the fork. For the syringe art, they used their fine motor skills to fill the syringes and to release the paint.
During these activities I found that a child were overcoming needing help and began to preform the activities more freely on their own. For some of my children, it was hard for them to squirt the syringe but they were great at asking for help if they needed it.
Allowing these opportunities for children to use a variety of materials freely helps increase their development and independence and self value.
Thanks to Mother Goose Time were use all our art materials to freely create work of arts.
