me Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite authors. I love that way that he uses imagination to engage and involve the children. For my mother goose time is similar in a way. This week, we got to try new things that children may not be able to try anywhere else even if they did seem a little weird to the children. For the first example: Allowing the children to draw their creations under the table using the crayons. Our rule at my program is we don't go under the table and we don't play under it either. I told the children for one activity I was going to allow them to do something they never have done. Then, we discussed why we were going to create our art under the table. When, the children were doing their art I asked them questions about how the art was going was it easier or harder on their back? What if they got on their bellies would it be easier or more difficult? After, each question the children told both were hard. Another on is allowing them to throw a sticky hand in the daycare room at the door when I said a letter. One child even asked me if I was pulling his leg. They had some much great fun and laughs during this time it was well worth it. I never would had done any of these had they not been in the lesson plan for my curriculum thanks to mother goose time. It was truly amazing to see how the child reacted to the new situations and experiences they were having. I got these great ideas from my Mother Goose time teacher's guide. I receive all materials in exchange for my 100% true feedback. www.mothergoosetime.com | |
