Their This week, the children were learning about It's a Small World. This curriculum I receive free in exchange for my feedback about how we use their box in our program. The children really loved the matching cards. Even my younger ones tried to match the cards. Then, we talked about what they thought that each person was doing in each picture. I asked my older children what they were using to tell if they matched. One told me shapes and another told me colors. Both were great tools to use. I love the journals. However, some of them are way to hard for my little ones. I tailor them to make them work for each child. Love how it requires them to think about what we have talked about and how they go about making and carrying out each activity. Their favorite activity was the red rocks. They love the messy art. We did the activity in steps. Step one: I had them draw what they saw in the inspiration photo. Step two: They added glue. My older ones outlined what they drew. Step three: We added red sand to our art to look like our inspiration photo. I love to break up art like this thanks to mother goose time. It really allows the children to see and think about what they are going to do. www.mothergoosetime.com | |
